Welcome to the JA Start-Up finals

Smart phone apps, design T-shirts, accounting services. Which JA company’s development story is the most impressive? Who will receive a 15,000€ boost for their future? 

Tha university-level JA Start-Up program’s final competition will be held this year on May 8th at the Old Student House in Helsinki with the Yritystä Stadiin event. Come meet our young entrepreneurs and see who will impress the jury with their presentation and company story.

In the JA Start-Up finals JA student companies from university-level institutions practice presenting their company to the public and jury consisting of business representatives. Two awards will be handed out to the best companies:

  • The academic year’s best JA company will be rewarded with a competition trip to represent Finland at the JA European Championships in Amsterdam, Netherland on July 2-4. This award will be given to the company that has demonstrated the greatest development and whose members have learned the most during the year.
  • Hyundai Brilliant Young Entrepreneur Award with 15,000€ will be handed out to the company with the greatest growth potential. The award funding will be used in piloting the company’s concept, managing IP rights, conducting market research, and similar activities that aiming to ensure the company’s future success. The award includes monetary funding and advisor and mentoring services.

The participating JA companies come from universities offering their students the possibility to acquaint themselves with entrepreneurship in the JA Start-Up program.

This year contestants will arrive at least from the University of Turku, Turku School of Economics, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Laurea University of Applied Sciences, and Lahti University of Applied Sciences.
