Last year’s JA Start Up Program winner, Fashion Flash Finland NY, received a wonderful chance to exhibit Finnish fashion to a European audience and compete in the Europe Enterprise Challenge at Liège, Belgium on July 3rd and 4th.

Founded together by Maria Maunula, Karoliina Helkkula and Elina Vuorila – all students in different Turku colleges – Fashion Flash Finland NY’s business idea was to create an online service exhibiting Finnish fashion and fashion designers. The company also provides marketing and communications services for designers.

JA Finland’s Program Manager Turo Numminen compliments especially the FFF team’s excellent PR and communications skills.

“They made the most progress during the year specifically with activities outside the basic program plan. Maria and Karoliina both told me they learned especially negotiation and organization skills. The possibility to learn through business activities the girls were interested and invested in also worked as a motivator and a learning catalyst,” Numminen said.

At the moment the highlights of the Fall collections are worth a look. The JA Company can also naturally be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

“The first prize of the Europe Enterprise Challenge went to France this year. For Fashion Flash Finland, though, the trip was primarily about building networks and receive publicity for their online service,” Numminen claims.

The victor at Liège was JukeBoss mobile application, which enables the users to make song requests through their cell phones at bars. The application is available for download at Apple AppStore.
